Such great food! Just what we were looking for during our break from Dance competition with our granddaughters. Let's just say Nonnie and Poppie aren't eating anything else today! We have whole catfish and oxtails! Just yum!!

This place is so great! It’s a nice little hole in the wall with amazing food. The chicken and oxtails were both flavorful and juicy. The pecan pie was absolutely perfect, sweet and tasty. The sides were also really good. 10/10, would definitely come again.

The food was delicious and filling. The collards had been cooked a good long time and were so tasty. The fried chicken was excellent - our family had all different kinds. And, the pecan pie was small but yummy. The staff was caring and kind. They stayed open for us and let us sit outside and eat while they cleaned up. They were so friendly. Our son said it was the greatest place he had ever been to!

Ate here after my best friend suggested it for lunch. Nice restaurant and very friendly staff. We had the baked and smothered pork chops. The chops were very seasoned. The sides were dressing, collard greens, Mac and cheese, and okra. All were good. Very good fruit punch and my best friend said that the sweet tea was great. The restaurant was also clean. Nice place to eat located in a small strip mall and right across from Alabama State University. If you want home cooked style food, try this place.

Listen, this place is underrated! The owner Ms.Jackson treated us with exceptional hospitality and customer service. This type of treatment is what America needs! We drove from TN to AL and we ALWAYS EAT HERE! This restaurant has never and I mean never failed us on food and service! I pray that God allows this lady to open up multiple restaurants in different states!

This place is a hidden jewel. Dont allow the location steer you away. The service is so awesome and professional and pleasant and greeted with not only a smile but also with love!!! Love the owner energy. First time having ox tails and yesssssss they were soooooo good & tender & very tasty. The gravy was good. I had catfish a few days before the ox Tails & yummy Also. The portions are big Also. Definitely can't eat it all at one time. LoL The cornbread was my absolute favorite. It's better than the muffins but they was good Also. The cabbage has a small kick so if you're not a spicy person don't get the cabbage. The Dressing was good & moist. Didn't need the cranberry sauce but it was good with & without it. The Mac & Cheese was actually cheesy & homemade.... not frozen or made with cheap cheese like I've seen at other restaurants. The Yams OMGoodness theyre so good. So mad I didn't get an extra side of them. My Guy had the porchops w/gravy & he liked them. Okra was yummy. THE catfish was a large portion and fried perfect. A lil too much seasoning for my liking but very good Also. Everything was literally good! 5stars for me both times. Go Try It Now!!!!! Update. 12/13/24 Finalky retied the greens and I love them also. Got my usual oxtails, Mac and Dressings. Yummy Now go try them!!!!

I wish we could give them 10 stars!! If you have never eaten there, you are missing an amazing experience! It was our first time there, but definitely won't be our last. The atmosphere is warm & welcoming, the food is melt-in-your-mouth! I had the Oxtails on rice with yams. My husband had the hamburger steak with black-eyed peas and fried okra. Now, this is what earned them 5 bonus stars...hubby wanted mashed potatoes & gravy with his meat but as their sides change daily, it wasn't on the menu that day. However, they had some fresh cooked taters for potato salad! Would you believe, Ms. Teresa went to the kitchen and made a big serving of mashed potatoes just for him! Who does that?!? You can taste the love in every bite of the food they cook! We live nearly an hour away, but it will be worth every mile to taste and feel that love again! Go getcha sum!! You won't regret it! P.S. The portions are generous and the prices are easy on the pocketbook!

I visited from NC and this was my first soul food experience in Montgomery. The food was absolutely delicious, and the customer service was even better (if that’s possible). The owner, Teresa, greeted us like we were family and spoke to everyone with such energy and care. Every time I come back to Montgomery, I will be SURE to stop in and order the catfish nuggets, Mac and cheese and the collard greens. 10/10 !!!
